The East Yorkshire Motor Services Band will be performing a concert on Saturday 26th September 2009, at the Middleton Hall, University of Hull, Cottingham Road, Hull, starting at 7.30pm.
Originally this concert was to be a celebration event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Band (initially as the City of Hull Band) in September 1989. However, following the death of the Band Secretary, this concert is now the Maurice Metcalfe Memorial Concert, with all proceeds being presented to the Dove House Hospice, a charity that was close to Maurice's heart.
The EYMS Band will be conducted on the evening by Mr Stan Lippeatt (the newly appointed Musical Director of the EYMS Band) and Dr Robert Childs (MD of the Cory Band, and co-founder of the EYMS Band). Joining them on the stage will be guest Euphonium Soloist David Childs.
